The history of PDN

In 2006 the departments of Anatomy and Physiology merged into PDN, but the teaching and the research of the two disciplines has a long history.

	Anatomy past and present Anatomy has been taught within the University since its foundation in about 1231.		The Physiological Laboratory Physiology was taught at Cambridge as a branch of Anatomy until the appointment of Sir Michael Foster.
	Veterinary anatomy Cambridge's veterinary school is relatively young, having started in earnest in 1949.		The merger of Anatomy and Physiology In 2006 the separate Departments of Anatomy and Physiology united under the common name of PDN.
	Centenary of the physiological laboratory In 2014, the Physiological Laboratory celebrated its 100th year.		Past events A collection of past conferences, symposiums and celebrations.
