Our congratulations to Research Associate, Dr Szilvia Vas, who has been awarded the 2026 Michael Harbuz Prize by the British Society for Neuroendocrinology (BSN). The prize is awarded “in memory of Dr Michael Harbuz” and recognises “an outstanding member of the emerging generation of neuroendocrinologists at the BSN.”
Dr Vas is an in vivo neuroscientist interested in neurobiology of sleep and fertility with a special focus on the hypothalamus. She is a member of the Herbison Lab at PDN.
As part of the prize, Dr Vas will give a 30-minute lecture on her research at the Early Career Meeting, Neuroendo Celebrate 2026, taking place in Manchester in September 2026.
She will also have the opportunity to publish an ‘Early Career Perspective’ article in the Journal of Neuroendocrinology, as well as receive £750 in prize money and one year of free BSN membership.
