Congratulations to Dr Christian Wood, who was recently awarded a Junior Non-Clinical Psychopharmacology award from the British Association of Psychopharmacology. This included a prize talk at the annual meeting titled "Causal circuit mechanisms linking prefrontal-cingulate dysfunction to depression and anxiety".
Christian is a Research Associate within the Roberts Lab, and his research investigates how specific higher-order brain circuits in the non-human primate give rise to different emotion-related processes, and how their dysfunction may contribute to aspects of psychiatric disorders such as anxiety and depression.

The BAP Psychopharmacology Awards are awarded annually to reward excellence in non-clinical psychopharmacology (work involving cells and/or animals), translational psychopharmacology (work involving healthy human volunteers) and clinical psychopharmacology (work involving patient populations). Previous winners have gone on to become internationally recognised experts in their field.
Congratulations also to PDN graduate Lawrence Ng, who received an Undergraduate award during the same meeting, for his poster titled: "From globally connected to functionally segregated: Functional brain network development in the common marmoset Callithrix Jacchus". The award was given for excellence of both his research abstract and poster presentation during the conference.
