Keycaps in Mac OS X

In Mac classic OS – before OS X – one could easily find the special characters, such as Greek letters, special symbols, etc. using 'Keycaps'. The equivalent functionality in OS X is provided by 'Keyboard Viewer'. You will need to enable it if you want to use this function. Here is how to do it:

  1. Click the Apple Icon in the top left-hand corner
  2. Select System Preferences
  3. Click International
  4. Click Input Menu
  5. Enable (check) the Keyboard Viewer
  6. Close System Preferences
  7. Now click the Input Menu icon (Union Jack icon) and the Keyboard Viewer is there...
