Undergraduate Teaching
The Department teaches medical,
veterinary and science undergraduates within the framework
laid down by the Faculty
Board of Biology. Courses are organised within
a framework known as
the Tripos with the first two years (Part I) providing a broad grounding,
and the third year (Part
II) normally being specialised. The Department provides lectures, practicals,
dissection sessions,
research projects and some seminars with the Colleges delivering small-group
teaching in the
form of supervisions.
The Department places a very high value on the quality of its teaching. We regularly monitor the content and effectiveness of each of our teaching programmes, and provide constructive feedback and training advice for our teaching staff.
