Research in my laboratory is currently directed at investigating the role of K+ channel expression in the control of membrane potential, Ca2+ entry and the regulation of gene expression in megakaryocytes from acute myelogenus leukemia (AML) suffers. We have characterised a cultured cell line expressing an identical K+ channel phenotype as megakaryocytes from AML patients and are employing this cell line in investigations of K+ channel function in regulated gene expression in AML.
