Experimental Data

Carl J Morton-Firth and Robert B Bourret

The aim of this document is to provide a source of rate constants and concentrations connected with bacterial chemotaxis in Escherichia coli from published experimental data. Originally, it was used as a data source for the development of computer models, but has since matured into a resource which may be of use to other groups. With this in mind, we welcome feedback on these tables and any new data which has not been included, so that we may produce a more accurate and complete document.

Section Description
Notes Introductory notes outlining structure, notation and background information for tables.
Core Reactions Central reactions of the chemotaxis pathway responsible for the immediate response to aspartate, including receptor complex formation, ligand and phosphotransfer reactions.
Methylation Reactions All reactions related to methylated receptor complex species, including methylation, demethylation, ligand binding, autophosporylation and phosphotransfer.
Other Reactions Miscellaneous reactions, including motor, CheA-short and various novel mechanisms.
Protein Concentrations Concentrations of the chemotaxis proteins and receptors.
References Complete reference list for tables.
